Terrifier - Must See Horror Movie For This Halloween
Now that it's officially the First of Halloween 2018, it's time to get spooky. What's the best thing about Halloween, apart from candies and slutty costumes of non-sexual things (introducing sexy corn)? Horror movies, that's right!
To get Spookmas into gear, I want to introduce to you one of my new favourite horror villains: Art the Clown.
Terrifier is a budget horror movie, released in 2017 as a full-length re-imagining of a short of the same name. The film follows two girls on Halloween and their run-in with "Art the Clown". The plot isn't that deep; it faithfully follows the standard "stalker stalks teenage girls" format. But it's not the plot that makes this movie a must watch this Halloween - it's Art.
To put it bluntly, Art makes Pennywise look like Krusty the Clown. With the brutal nature of what he does with his victims, along with his over the top mannerisms, Art manages to become the most noteworthy slasher killer we've had in a long time. This is all brought to life by the amazing performance from 'David Howard Thornton'.
Art is downright horrifying, and that's even before you get to see what he does. Terrifier is a gore-lover's paradise. There is blood up the wazoo with some really brutal kills and no CGI. Everything is done with only practical effects, which help make the movie's aesthetic so fantastic. Director Damien Leone does not shy away from showing you every detail in the most real way possible, which makes some scenes hard to watch.
If you're planning on doing a Halloween Movie Marathon this month - and you've got a cast-iron stomach - it's time to put Terrifier on your list.
